You will receive a seed packet containing 0.1 gram or a minimum of 150 fresh ORGANIC Yarrow seeds. Achillea millefoleium, also known as Yarrow, Milfoil, Lace plant, Hundred-leaved grass, Devils Nettle, Warriors Plant, and Bloodwort, is a member of the Asteraceae family native to Eurasia and North America. Yarrow has a long history of being used by soldiers during war times and derives its name from the famous Greek mythology hero Achilles. Carried into battle by ancient Greeks, and Romans, as well as Indigenous tribes, Yarrow was used in treating soldiers up until the American civil war. Along with its rich history on the battlefield, Yarrow is beneficial to our local ecosystems by helping to support the pollinator population. Whether you want to add more variety to your cut flower bouquets, help out your neighborhood pollinators, or want to explore a historically significant plant, Yarrow has so much to offer.

Yarrow is a perennial deciduous herb native to Eurasia and North America that thrives in growing zones 3-9. Yarrow attracts many different pollinators, especially butterflies! Supporting pollinators helps develop healthy ecosystems. Ideal temperatures for germination are between 70°-80°F, and you can expect seedlings to emerge 7-10 days after planting. Plant Yarrow in full sun and well-draining soil, 1-2 feet apart. Yarrow reaches maturity at 130 days and remains hardy to 0°F.

Yarrow is deer resistant and great for open areas that need ground cover. Flat clusters of small white flowers develop in summer, making Yarrow perfect for cut flower bouquets in need of lovely filler flowers. The tinder leaves of the Yarrow plant are edible and can be used in salad, soups, and stews or buttered and sautéed as a delicious side dish.
