Welcome to Seed Needs - A Seed Company On A Mission For Change
I started Seed Needs when I was just 15 years old, with the goals of bringing my family closer, retiring my father, employing friends, and most importantly, helping people. Over the past decade, we have shipped millions of seed packets to happy customers across the United States, offering a wide variety of flowers, herbs, vegetables, vines, and seed collections.
Our beautifully illustrated seed packets provide the common and scientific names, seed quantity, and growing information. The reverse side features full instructions on sowing, growing conditions, germination, and more, along with a convenient QR code for easy reordering.
At Seed Needs, we are committed to providing only the highest quality, non-GMO, untreated seeds. Stored in a temperature-controlled, moisture-free facility, our seeds are always fresh and true to the advertised variety, with no added fillers. We take pride in our heirloom offerings, which have been carefully bred and passed down through generations, ensuring they will breed true every time.
Flowers from our seeds attract a variety of beneficial insects like butterflies, bumblebees, honeybees, and ladybugs, creating a thriving garden ecosystem. One of our popular heirloom varieties is the Blue Jarrahdale Pumpkin, a unique winter squash that produces large, deeply-ribbed fruits with a pale blue-green color.
Sowing Blue Jarrahdale Pumpkins is best done directly outdoors in the summer, creating mounds of rich, well-drained soil for the seeds. The plants will grow to a mature height of 1-2 feet, with vines spreading 10-15 feet, so be sure to provide ample space. After 7-14 days, the seeds will sprout, and the plants will thrive in warm temperatures above 75°F. These pumpkins are ready to harvest in about 100 days, perfect for fall decorations and delicious pies.
With the success of Seed Needs, we have been able to grow our sponsorships from just 1 child in 2010 to over 100 children each month. We are humbled to be able to help those in need and continue to donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the ASPCA on a monthly basis.
Thank you to all our customers who have supported us over the years - it is because of you that we are able to make a difference. We are proud to offer quality, sustainable seeds and to give back to our community and those in need.
