After the threat of frost has passed and daytime temperatures rise above 55-60°F, sow zinnias outdoors in rich, moist, well-drained soil. Cover the seeds with a minimal amount of soil. Once the seedlings reach 3-4 inches in height, thin them out to one plant every 10-12 inches. Since zinnias are prone to mildew, water carefully at the base of the plants to avoid wetting the stems or leaves. Surprisingly, zinnias thrive with a bit of neglect, so allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. For colder climates, start the seeds indoors 4 weeks before the last expected frost and transplant them outside after hardening them off.

Zinnias are remarkably easy to grow and maintain. This Dahlia Mix will fill your garden with big, bold blooms in a vibrant rainbow of colors. Butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds find these large, vividly colored flowers irresistible, and they also make excellent cut flowers.

Each 1 gram packet contains approximately 200 premium, open-pollinated, non-GMO flower seeds that are freshly packed for the current growing season, ensuring high germination rates even for the next year. To encourage more zinnia flowers, deadhead the plants whenever the blooms appear tired or worn. Simply cut the stems diagonally, just above a fresh set of leaves, and new flowers will soon emerge.

This mixed packet includes a diverse array of flower colors, including canary yellow, gold, orange, rose red, scarlet, green, coral pink, fuchsia, and purple. Zinnias are versatile and can be planted with other flower varieties in mixed wildflower gardens or grown separately in more formal, manicured gardens.
