Quick Facts: Tetra Mixed Snapdragons - Type: Flower - Color: Mixture - Height: 18" to 24" Tall - Width: 12" Spread - Season: Annual - Zones: 3 to 9 - Environment: Full Sun
Grow a garden filled with Snapdragons, from freshly harvested Antirrhinum majus seeds. Tetra Mixed Snapdragons have been a garden favorite for hundreds of years, establishing easily in the garden when the weather is warm and creating mounds of beautiful, colorful flowering plants. They will produce flowers in pink, purple, red, yellow, and white, growing to a mature height of about 18 to 24 inches tall and making an excellent cut flower with a vase life of up to 10 days.
Sowing the Seed Snapdragon seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors. If starting indoors, we recommend sowing in peat pots 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, at a depth of 1/16" under topsoil. When the weather is warm, you can transplant or direct sow the seeds (or seedlings) into the garden, first preparing the sowing area by removing unwanted plant life, turning the dirt, and scattering the seeds thinly, covering with 1/16" of topsoil.
Growing Conditions Snapdragon flower seeds and plants require an area of full sunlight for most of the day and temperatures of at least 70°F to thrive. They need a rich, well-draining soil, and should be watered daily with a light mist to keep the soil moist but never soaked.
Germination and Growth Your Snapdragon seeds will begin to sprout within 7 to 14 days after sowing. The plants will grow to a mature height of 18 to 24 inches tall and can be spaced 12 to 18 inches apart.
